Preserve Historic Missoula Night 2014
Preserve Historic Missoula held its annual event on March 22 at Heritage Hall, Fort Missoula. Dr. Greg Gordon, assistant professor of Environmental Studies, Gonzaga University, provided an informative and interesting lecture to a standing room only crowd on Andrew B. Hammond and the early days of the timber industry in Montana and the Bonner Mill. His new book, "When Money Grew on Trees: A.B. Hammond and the Age of the Timber Baron."
Preserve Historic Missoula presented our annual Lincoln School Award to Bob Oaks for his tireless dedication to preserving our past. Several years ago a group of Missoula citizens banded together in an effort to try to save the historic Lincoln School in Missoula. In honor of their efforts to preserve this historic schoolhouse, Preserve Historic Missoula annually acknowledges an individual for their efforts in historic preservation in our community.
Preserve Historic Missoula would like to acknowledge the gracious support provided by the Northern Rockies Heritage Center, the non-profit organization that owns and preserves the historic Heritage Hall.
