The National Trust for Historic Preservation
The National Trust for Historic Preservation provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resources to save America's diverse historic places and revitalize our communities. The National Trust for Historic Preservation is a private, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to saving historic places and revitalizing America's communities. Recipient of the National Humanities Medal, the Trust was founded in 1949 and provides leadership, education, advocacy, and resources to protect the irreplaceable places that tell America's story. Staff at the Washington, DC, headquarters, six regional offices and 29 historic sites work with the Trust’s 200,000 members and thousands of preservation groups in all 50 states.
The Montana Historical Society
Established in 1865, the Montana Historical Society is one of the oldest institutions of its kind west of the Mississippi River. The Montana Archaeological Society
Organized in 1958, membership in the Montana Archaeological Society is open to both amateur and professional archaeologists. The MAS was created to stimulate interest in and promote research into the archaeology of Montana, to encourage increased public appreciation and involvement in this fascinating process, to develop a bond among both professionals and non-professionals interested in Montana archaeology and to direct their efforts into scientific channels, and to advocate and assist in the conservation and preservation of archaeological sites and materials.
The Montana Preservation Alliance
The Montana Preservation Alliance (MPA) saves and protects Montana's historic places, traditional landscapes, and cultural heritage. We are the only statewide, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing Montanan's with the resources necessary to preserve our state's unique history and culture. Since 1987, MPA has helped Montana citizens to achieve a diverse array of preservation initiatives ranging from roof repair and building stabilization to school education programs and cultural landscape documentation. Through our preservation team workshops, lobbying efforts, Preservation Excellence Awards, and annual publication of Montana's Most Endangered Places, MPA provides individuals and communities with the leadership and knowledge to preserve our past for the future.
The Montana Heritage Commission
The Montana Heritage Commission preserves and manages historic resources in Virginia City, Nevada City and Reeder's Alley and promotes the appreciation of history through quality visitor experiences. The Montana Heritage Commission takes pride in managing some of the most valuable and fascinating historic sites in Montana--Virginia City, Nevada City, plus Reeder's Alley and the Pioneer Cabin in Helena.
Virginia City, Montana
Virginia City is a living town of 150 year round residents who host the West's best preserved gold mining town from the 1860s. Visitors walk the same boardwalks that desperate Vigilantes once patrolled. Guests are transported to a time when rowdy miners mingled in saloons and restaurants with women of negotiable affection. View over 100 historic buildings complete with artifacts and furnishings. Ride the stagecoach, attend a live theater show, stay the night in homey historic lodging. Shop in unique gift and specialty shops. Enjoy fine dining and old-fashioned bakery and candy shop goods.
The City of Missoula Historic Preservation Commission
The Historic Preservation Commission is charged with establishing a local historic preservation program, integrating historic preservation into local, state and federal planning and decision-making processes. The historic preservation program is designed to promote the preservation of historic and prehistoric sites, structures, objects, buildings and historic districts. The Historic Preservation Commission is formed of volunteers from Missoula's neighborhoods, businesses and preservation professionals, and was established by the Missoula City Council in 1989.
Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization
In the summer of 1994 a group of residents of Butte, Montana, committed to the preservation and promotion of Butte's unique historical architecture, came together to form the Butte Citizens for Preservation and Revitalization — Butte CPR. CPR provides grants to improve buildings, educational tours, lectures, preservation workshops, and other events, liaison with local government, business, and civic organizations, and the labor to restore, renovate and salvage historical buildings in the nation's largest National Historic Landmark District, encompassing 5,991 historically significant resources.
The City of Bozeman Historic Preservation Commission
Our pride in where we live rests in part on our understanding and appreciation of the past. This past lives in the surviving buildings, structures, landscapes, and archaeological sites that surround us. We envision a Bozeman in which every citizen knows about and appreciates our community's unique contribution to Montana's heritage, and takes joy in maintaining and protecting that heritage.

Travelers Rest Preservation and Heritage Association
Travelers Rest Preservation and Heritage Association's stated mission is to promote and preserve Travelers Rest State Park and its natural and cultural history. We are dedicated to creating experiences that link the past to the future, inspiring stewardship through culturally inclusive education, interpretation and partnerships.
Northern Rockies Heritage Center
The mission of the Northern Rockies Heritage Center is the preservation of the heritage and integrity of historic Fort Missoula. To establish an environment fostering historic, cultural and educational enrichment, NRHC will preserve the entrusted properties including thirteen buildings, the parade grounds, and the water tower. NRHC is a supporting member of PHM and they graciously allow PHM use of the historic Heritage Hall at a greatly reduced cost for our annual Preserve Historic Missoula Night.
Mission Paint
Mission Paint is a partner with PHM in our annual Paint Grant project. PHM selects one or two homeowners to receive grants of up to $500.00 each. Mission Paint provides paint to the homeowners at a discounted price. PHM greatly appreciates Mission Paint's support for PHM.
